Thinner

Today I ran into an old friend whom I had not seen in a long time. They were quite shocked at my appearance, “How much weight have you lost - you look great!” Well, as of this week, it’s 65 pounds in 6 months. And they were amazed - wanted to know if I’d had a gastric bypass or something? “Nope, Diabetes!” Then I explained my new lifestyle, low carb eating, exercise, etc. - how boring that must sound - not nearly as exciting as a new diet pill or the lap-band, or radical liposuction. Sorry, I did it the hard way - eat less & exercise more. I now have just 25 pounds left to go to hit my goal weight - and at the rate I’m going it won’t take long, I guess. I’m pretty proud of myself for doing it too - especially at my age (50) and with my high-stress lifestyle that involves a lot of travel. Like I told my friend today, this is not a “DIET”, this is a lifestyle change that’s forever.
