Tim Tam Slam

Ooookay so, I just discovered the Tim Tam Slam. What a heavenly gooey mess they are!

Tim Tams, if you do not know, are a biscuit originating from Australia. It consists of 2 dry biscuits separated by a chocolate frosting layer, smothered in a chocolate coating.

The Tim Tam Slam involves a hot drink (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, hot milk...) and the Tim Tam. When you bite off one corner of a Tim Tam, you can also bite off the opposing corner, and try and use it like a straw in your hot drink. When you are holding the biscuit, a few seconds of sucking will dissolve it into a gooey mess. At this point you take it out of your drink and can take small messy bites, or just shove the whole mess into your mouth.

Tim Tams are 25g carb for 2 biscuits, a satisfying portion for the biscuit. They come in a variety of flavours, but I would start with the milk or dark chocolate variety. Since the majority of biscuits are imported into North America, you may not find them readily in all grocery stores, and they can be a bit pricey. But if you spot them, I say they're worth a try!

Oh an don't forget to adjust your insulin accordingly if you are using a caffeinated coffee or tea, since it can cause a bit of insulin resistance and you are consuming carbs.

Let me know if you're a fan of the Tim Tam Slam!!
