Total Career Change

Well, many of you know that I'm a teacher. In Wisconsin. Yeah, enough said :) (I'm sure you've all heard about the political stuff affecting teachers in WI, on the news...)

For many reasons, some of them political, but many of them centered around philosophy and my own stress levels....I've decided to make a total career change. After this school year (my third teaching), I will be leaving the field and going back to school full-time to earn a B.S. in Healthcare Administration w/ a minor in Business Administration.

I'm very excited about this, but extremely worried about money and healthcare during this transition time. We are fairly sure I can go on my boyfriend's insurance as a domestic partner, since we've been living together since May of 2010. However, I will still only be making a little money, as I'll only be able to work part-time, at best.

I guess I just need the reassurance of my diabetes family to tell me I'm not totally crazy ;)

I don't know anything about the insurance part, but congrats on changing your career to work toward the life you really want. In the meantime, have a good time in school.

What's crazy is staying in a field that doesn't bring you fulfillment. Wishing you success.

Not many people have it in them to hit the brakes and change course. So that is great that you decided to pursue something that will give you more satisfaction. Have fun with the new direction.
