Having some difficulty with the trulicity injection. Pen works but I seem to end up with more than a 2 or 3 Pins head quantity of medication mixed with some blood on my thigh. Have tried to find softer more fatty areas but same thing happens. Wonder how much Med I’m actually getting .5 ml is not very much to begin with. Can any one else share their experience ?
I haven’t taken Trulicity, but I took Byetta and Victoza which are both GLP-1 class drugs like Trulicity. And I’ve also used insulin for nearly 6 years. I’m not sure what your “Pins” are, but it is not uncommon for there to appear small droplets on the pen needle after injection and for there to be some “leakage” from the injection site. Because you inject with some pressure it is important to let the injection site in your body for a little while for the pressure to equalize. I wait up to ten seconds. I also find that pinching up can help make sure I am injecting into bodyfat. And finally, some people find different needle lengths work better and you can sometimes use different injection techniques with different needle sizes (i.e. some people find the 4mm allows perpendicular injection without pinching).
