TuDiabetes 2nd Anniversary and 7000 Member Press Release

Congratulations Manny for helping so many diabetics. After 42 years of diabetes alone in a vacuum, its been great to touch base with others. I’m computer unsavy however. I was unable to delete the yellow paragraph and replace it. How do I do this or is it necessary to print it out and retype?

My friend who is a professional writer has suggested that when emailing the media, we say the following:

“Please find attached a press release (and photo) for publication in your paper. Thank you for your consideration.”

Also, try to put something attention grabbing in the subject line, like “Diabetes Social Networks Help People with Diabetes Not Feel Alone”

(sorry, Manny, but it’s either “network helps” or “networks help”)

OOPS!!! :frowning:

I hope that doesn’t hurt us. I am attaching here (and in the original post) the corrected RTF file.

I realized the RTF I attached had a quote from the community, instead of the space for your own quote.

Sorry about the mixup.

Well, since you didn’t get mad at me for that correction, another thing that I noticed is in the paragraph that is titled “About TuDiabetes.com”. The sentence construction makes it sound like Andreina was diagnosed with type 1 along with you. Only a wordsmith and English major type like me would notice this.

Are we keeping track of where we’re sending them? What about TV shows like Regis and Kelly, or the 3rd hour of the Today show, which encourages viewers to get on their Facebook page?

If the TV shows are okay, what about the Ellen Degeneres show? I am sorry. I already asked her to have you on her show Of course I don’t know her, but she had Nick Jonas on there and I followed it up with a request to have you on too and talk about Tu Diabetes and the Diabetic Hands Foundation. I should have asked you first.

Dear Manny and Co,

Salmon Arm , British Columbia , Canada is having a Canadian Diabetes Association sponsored EXPO on March 28, 2009 …no better place than here to have your press release advertized and I will print off…well maybe there are better places as you suggested
I thought the same as Marie B … that Andreina has type 1 as well !!!

If they have us, it would be amazing!!

Nel,
Would you like us to mail you a package of 4x6 cards to distribute at the event, if possible? If so, please send me a message with your mailing address.

Thank you SO much!

P.S. Nope. Andreina doesn’t have diabetes.

Done deal …message sent …
Another story : and one in a family having diabetes is ENOUGH …however there are many families with more than one as my dear Brother and his wife .

In my institution I presented our community showing my colleagues, on line all aspects here. On TV I will do the same,on face book I do that.
Great community, global with compassion and amazing members.A family for me,

Scott,
They posted the press release in the Star!!

That is what makes our community so beautiful. Manny and Andreina started us out as loving family and that is the way we have stayed and grown. We truly are a huge and loving family

Thanks so much!!! If you talk on TV, see if they let you capture the video, so we can all see you, amiga!

I don’t want to talk on TV Manny. That would have to be you. I only asked for you to be on the show.

I just sent three press releases to the New Jersey Herald, the NJ Star-Ledger, and the Straus newspapers here.

We’ve been featured on the home page of the World Diabetes Day web site:
