Dear friends,
As our second anniversary approaches, I have put together a press release to help get the word out about the community to local media.
I have written the press release (attached below) leaving a whole paragraph for you to write in your name and town, so you can also include your own words about the community. This way you can give the press release a local and personal feel that your community’s media should be more interested in.
If you choose to do contact local publications, radio or TV stations, please post on this topic what media you are sending it to and if you find out that it was published/aired, please let us all know.
HAPPY SECOND ANNIVERSARY EVERYONE and thanks for your help in getting the word out to the world about TuDiabetes! 7691-PressReleaseforTuDiabetes_06.rtf (1.11 MB)
Congrats Manny!
What a beautiful release.
It’s amazing how much this community has grown.
TuDiabetes was my First online social/community experience.
And the first time I was “meeting” other T1s!
Thank you for this community and all you have done in the last 2 years (less than, wow!!!)!!!
You are simply an amazing person with so much to offer. Without your unwavering dedication and your wife’s abilities, I don’t know where Thousands of us would be…
Hi Manny, I’ve printed it off, will modify the “personal” paragraph and will submit it to the online newspapers and news stations here. I’ll provide a link once I get some type of response back. Thanks for doing what you do!
Very nice press release about your site Manny. I’m sure many diabetics, and their families and friends, will be interested in joining after learning of the vast subject manner regarding Diabetes.
Another press release on the benefits of the CGM, and the rejection by Insurance Companies to pay for this product would help put pressure on Ins. Co’s. Same format as 2nd Anniversary press release.
We don’t have lobbyists, like pharmaceutical companies to get the CGM approved. We would bigtime help ourselves by creating this pressure ourselves, or sit back and hope.
Folks other than diabetics might find this revelation on aborting decency quite interesting.

Congratulations Manny. YOU have helped a lot of people by creating this place. I wont say site, because I don’t feel like its a site, more like a 2nd home.
you’er realy helped all of us by creating this big home,
i’m very happy because all the diabetics in this home are my family,
this community makes us unique…
i’m very proud to be in this amazing community…
I promised myself to help all the diabetics in this community and in the whole world…
Thank you Manny soo much,
this community is the best thing that you have done in your life…
I will definitely send it to the New Jersey Herald, the New Jersey Star-Ledger. If you need me to, I’ll send it to the NYTimes, although we have so many New Yorkers here, that might be more personal.
I sent this to our local ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC affiliates as well as the Kansas City Star newspaper
Here’s my quote
Scott Strange, a resident of Merriam, KS is one of the members of TuDiabetes.com. “Having been a type-1 diabetic for 39 years, it was fantastic to finally find a place where I could get the support and knowledge I need. The other members all know what I am going thru on a day-to-day basis managing this lifelong disease.” said Strange.
Hi Manny,
Great job. I went to the site and proudly left my comment. I will be so excited to see this come up in the media. I have wanted this much deserved media attention for you and Andreina for so long now. Can you imasgine how much screaming and dancing with joy there will be when this comes out? Do you think we can make the world whirl a little faster with all our dancing? Big smiles and big hugs to you all.
What program is needed to edit .rtf files? I have a program that allows me to view them, but with no sign that it can edit them. Or am I supposed to copy its contents to whatever editor I have, edit them there, and pass on the result?
