That is now my favorite name for an insulin.
“Donut? Yes, please! Just let me grab my screwdriver and crank up the Velosulin and it will be all systems go!”
“Roger that, Captain Insulin!”

Ooh! A miniaturized brick! Sweet!
I searched for the one I had before the Eugly. It might have been the Betatron I. I think I may have choosen the Eugly over the Betatron II.
I went to some sort of diabetes class. They Passed a Disetronic around the room. I said no, it was to clinical looking and I would never want a pump. Then I saw a cute Medtronic Minimed 508 in teal at the endo’s office. So I decided pumps were cool. Spent years trying to get as many different kinds of pumps to try as possible. Omnipod has now been the longest I ever spent with a pump!
Hey @Laura_S maybe this is the pump you had heard about:

The pump without Tidepool, so no CGM integration, just got its FDA 510(k) clearance. 510(k) Premarket Notification
Embecta is the company BD spun off from its Diabetes Products division. There’s a lot about T2D in the press release but the FDA doc says diabetes so that’s all of us. Its a patch pump like the Omnipod. In fact, the predicate device is the Dash so maybe Insulet is manufacturing this for Embecta?
Based on what we found with the Twiist the approved Embecta pump will probably never come to market and they’ll just use this approval as a predicate to the Tidepool + pump integration maybe resulting in not having to do a clinical trial on the finished product.
The Twiist will rely on infusion sets, and I think just approved for Humalog right now. I don’t want to lose the auto inject feature of the pods. I do like the fact that it’s supposed to have high occlusion detection. Someone needed to come up with that years back!
