Update on my situation, Type 2

So lately Ive been doing not only raw but raw +chlorophyll rich veggies- aka green. I used to make smoothies by adding veggies plus fruit but starting on June 1, Ive been doing NO fruit- only my veggies.

I cant remember if I blogged here or on another site about me knowing I was Type 2 since 2000 and not taking my medicine and basically ignored it. I did start to take Metformin in Feb/March of 09 but I stopped and was supposed to get my insulin prescription filled but never did. So I currently have no diabetic medicine in my system.

Since June 1,09 my lowest fasting bs has been 72 and my highest 2 hrs after eating has been 117. In terms of losing weight, I started raw in April at 254lbs May I fell off quite a bit but as of today 6/8/09 Im 224lbs. Im going to get my ac1 test in Sep which will be after 3months time.

I just want to encourage any type 2s that feel they can make a drastic change to do it. It is far easier to use food as medicine instead of medicine as medicine. Speaking of food I must re-state that I really feel the food industry and pharmaceutical companies are working together.

Good luck finding a salad dressing without High Fructose Corn Syrup or sugar or starches- all those are bad for us, yet we think its healthy because its salad dressing.

I almost brewed my Lipton Island Mango and Peach tea but something told me to read the ingredients first, I did and saw MODIFIED CORN STARCH what is THAT doing in dang-gum TEA!!! Yet Im sure plenty of type 2s are making that tea and adding that Splenda having that salad with dressing thinking everything is OK all the while insulin dosages are increasing in time…

Corn starch in a tea bag?!?? What the heck?

I applaud you and your numbers. Good job.

You’re eating more than just the raw veggies though, right?

thanks Mike.

"Corn starch in a tea bag?!?? What the heck?"
EXACTLY!

In terms of my diet I dont do ANY dairy, meat, grains and as of late-fruit. I will add fruit in time but yep thats pretty much it and I intend to do this…for life.
