Very early symptoms and when to go to OB

Hi everyone,

I've been charting my basal temps etc and today I'm 9 days post ovulation (or maybe 11--my temps were a bit erratic this cycle). Today I woke up nauseated and threw up after about 2 bites of breakfast, which is extremely rare for me. I also have menstrual-like cramps (no spotting or bleeding though). According to the Mayo Clinic site, these can both be very early symptoms of pregnancy.

So, obviously I don't know for sure yet. My question is, should I go ahead and call my OB, or should I wait till I have a positive test (God-willing!)? Also, did any of you experience symptoms this early?

Thanks very much!

Elizabeth

nausea usually doesn’t come until week 5 or so…the power of the mind is so great you can psych yourself up …try not to think about it tooo much, just wait it out. every time you think of it, make yourself change the subject. hard , i know, but it helps!!

Hi Elizabeth I find that I feel sick from the day I ovulate til the day after my period starts. In fact I felt sicker when I hadn’t conceived than this time when I had, I have had hardly any sickness and I am 4 wks 5 days today. As for the cramps I had stretching pains from the day of conception. I will say that every cycle is different but I would wait til DPO 12 til u test as you probably won’t get a correct result til then. That’s when I tested and got my BFP. Got BPN on 9DPO. Fingers crossed for you x

What’s BFP? BPN? And while we’re on ttc acronyms, what’s DH?

I am definitely not psyching myself up to vomit and have cramps. But now I have a fever too, so I guess I’m just plain old sick!

Thanks for the advice, ladies.

BFP = Big Fat Positive
BFN = Big Fat Negative
DH = Darling Husband or Dear Husband.

OP I agree, wait till at least 12 dpo to test. Best of luck. I really hope you get a BFP.

Thanks! I hope so, too!!

Did you test yet!!!

Well, I really was sick, but I really wasn’t pregnant! Too bad!!!
