Waterproof G4?

Does anyone know if the Dexcom G4 transmitter and sensor are waterproof? I assume the receiver is NOT waterproof?? I checked their website and couldn't find any info. Thanks!

Sensor can get wet. Not the receiver. Don't get in a hot tub. You can swim with the sensor on.

About the hot tub: I know that Medtronic's Enlite sensors will die more quickly when exposed to high temperatures, which is stated in the manual. But I couldn't find anything like that in the G4 manual. Did I just miss it? I'm even always cautious when taking a hot shower, but it would be great to know in case that's not necessary at all.

Don't get the receiver wet at all or it will void the warranty (I just got a replacement receiver for a broken button and they said they would check my old one for water damage).

The rest is completely waterproof, people go swimming with their G4 all the time (it won't transmit while you're under water of course).

I take hot showers every day and notice that my numbers seem to go up (according to my G4) but that could also be because I shower every morning (could be my Lantus wearing off) still trying to find out if there is a correlation there or not! Since I stopped taking Lantus this past Monday (and am now on a pump) I hope to figure that one out soon.

All my sensors so far (I'm on month 3 with my G4) have lasted 10-14 days and I only had to remove them because they were no longer sticking.

Cool! Good luck with your pump!
Take a look here for a nice solution to make the G4 stick longer.

Thanks Leo!
I might try that out.

My nurse suggested cutting the bits that peel off (before they peel the rest off) so I'm trying that this time around.

The sensor and transmitter are both waterproof. I swim with it every day and spend at least an hour in the pool every day. Receiver most definitely is not however.

I swim laps at the gym with mine. No problem because it is sealed completely.

For the receiver I use a pouch made by Sealine. I don't swim with the receiver but use the waterproof pouch when I am around water, beach, hiking.
