Yeah I’ve seen those. I have something kinda like that but want something bigger that keeps things dry too. Thanks though.

I just found this and am thinking about trying it! What do you think?
There is also a special waterproof bag call the AquaPac that will hold your pump. It’s nice if you are going to be getting wet but not doing enough activity to justify removing your pump. We used it for a float trip.
Yes I have seen those. Since we’re going to the ocean and with wearing a bathing suit and all I think I’ll just stick to removing it. Thanks anyway
looks pretty cool but… theres no mention of a ice pack… and theres no seperate place to keep you items ie meter and so on that doesnt get cool even if it had a ice pack…
Yeah true. Thanks for pointing it out. I think I’ll go with just a plain little backpack and either ziploc bags of little containers.
If you keep your meter in the inside of a light-colored bag, it won’t get too hot. Since you are on a pump, you don’t need to (and should plan not to) bring the insulin vial to the beach. That wouldn’t work. Keep it wherever you are staying.
I live about 10 minutes from the NJ beach and grew up there. New Jersey sand wipes off pretty easily, and NC sand is very similar. And if it doesn’t just rinse your fingers in the salty ocean water, and let them dry for a few minutes.
Make sure you stay hydrated though. I often find that when I’m at the beach, I get dehydrated and my sugar spikes. Well, it isn’t spiking, it just becomes a higher concentration because the blood is replacing the water that is evaporating from the skin.
Leanna-
…also maybe using a can of compressed air on your meter and pump at the end of each day will help get any sand off of supplies.
Yeah I thought too that I won’t need to take the insulin vial along which is awesome! Another wonderful thing about the pump!
Thanks for the advice! I always like hearing from people we have more experience
Thats true too. I’ll remember that if I need to get rid of extra sand but I’d like to first try getting as little as possible in my things! Thanks.
