We ask President Obama to take a leading role in the UN NCD Summit, Sept. 2011

Show your OUTRAGE to UNITE for a Healthy Future, Sept. 18 in Central Park, NYC:

Let the Chinese leaders and the Indian Leaders take the lead on this… Their countries lead in the most cases of Type 2 diabetes.

The American President needs to put people back to work and take care of the economy…

I have to disagree with you on this. This is a GLOBAL problem.

In fact, if you look at the data from the 2010 Diabetes Atlas, issued by the IDF:
you will see that North America leads the world in diabetes prevalence (more than twice as high the % of diabetes compared to Western Pacific -where China is counted- and nearly a full 3% more than in Southeast Asia).

No country can look the other way. Plus all global economies are hurting… and they will hurt even more if we don’t act on diabetes now.

You can disagree with me. It wouldn’t be the first time. The American people have spoken and we are more concerned about our President putting people back to work and fixing the economy. The American president is facing mutiny his core supporters should be focused on his re election campaign.

Is this IDF campaign even focused on other countries and how they manage health care in their own countries? Why don’t we make a GLOBAL EFFORT and ask people to spend their hard earned money on a lovely postcard to some of these other rogue countries? Poverty and warfare is a GLOBAL problem and how has that changed in the last 50 years?

You can read anything you want into that tiny chart on the IDF website. There are 2-3 regions that have HIGHER number of cases of Diabetes than NAC. Comparative percentages are guesstimates at best.
