I’m excited that I found this community! My 9 year old son, Johnny(AKA Sweet Boy), was diagnosed with T1 Diabetes on Jan 22, 2009. These past 5 months have been difficult, but he’s doing great. I keep saying he’s my hero. He’s such a brave boy. He’s taken charge of his Diabetes and is on top of things. In the first few weeks, he started giving himself his own shots! Amazing kid. Now we’ve just begun Pump Therapy. He’s on the Medtronic Minimed. This is our “training week” with saline running through the pump, but next Thursday we go “Live”. I have to say, I’m a bit nervous about it. Can anyone out there share some experiences of the first 3 days of starting pump therapy? How hard or easy is it? Any tips?
