When I post a message, very often that posting has disappeared from the normal line up. It can be found in “My page.” and I’m told if it is there it must also be on the posting board. Like the last posting about my operation. Where in heaven’s sake is it. I’m sure they will tell me it is there but it isn’t. Maybe my puter is different than theirs, who knows. Disappointing!
JOHNBEN. read this quick before it disappeared.
Hello there Johnben. I tried looking for your post regarding your operation you say? Is this it?
https://forum.tudiabetes.org/topics/a-surviving-jb-saying-hello
As of the moment, it is on page 16 of the Discussion List. (Click on View all pages…then go to page 16) Unfortunately, when new discussions are added and other posts gets replies, the older posts gets pushed down. Unless somebody replies to it again, that’s the only time it goes back to the main page. It does not disappear unless you or the administration removes it. Hope this helps…take care =)
I’m new here and I haven’t had any of my posts disappear. On other boards/forums I have had posts disappear, sometimes because of me posting things that are inappropriate. I have a habit of posting “to much information” sometimes personal things I should have kept to myself and I’ve been know to ramble on and on. Kind of like I’m doing right now. I’ll shut up. but I do hope you find all your posts in the future.
Johnben,
Cheer up! At least you’ve still got verbal ability! We all enjoy it. We just don’t usually reply to it, so the way to keep your posts on top is for you to keep adding a post to each one. I don’t know how many to tell you to add per day, but after you’ve had some experience with it, you can tell us how many it takes to keep your post on page 1. I promise to add a post if I see you keeping it there! But then, you’ll have to change the title of your post since you won’t be disappointed, and then I won’t find it again!
Posts move around from first to down the list because of when the last response was. So it will be at the top when you first post it and than as other folks respond to other threads, it will move down the list and it won’t go back up to the top again until someone responds again. It is really very simple. Newest responses to ANY thread “bumps” the thread to the top of the list. It is not your computer and nothing personal agaisnst you - this is the way most forums are programmed. You just have to understand how it works. It is there - but if it hasn’t had any responses for a while it could be on the third or fourth page in.
