I have been thoroughly enjoying this privilege of reading your poetry and learning about everyone’s life experiences through their writing and sharing of other’s poems and lyrics.
I love to write, and I believe it enables me to sort through my thoughts, worries, and praises. It seems for me, that music and conversations are my inspiration to write. Some days I seem unable to write anything because the inspiration is not there, but at other times, the words pour from me.
I would love to hear what inspires all of you to write. What motivates you? Have you always written or are you new to the idea? Why do you read poetry and lyrics? How has it helped you?
I used to write or paint all my life, but 2 y back I had depression because of wars in our area.I became very sick, woke up very early and run to piece of paper to write, the flow was amazing, many books,2 published.Travelling alone, airports, hotel rooms, being alone can start the flow.Since yesterday I am just writing feeling sick of violence and war in my area.add to that the death of one of my patients to leukemia.
Yes, it seems like writing is sometimes the only way to clear the mind. If you don’t put it down on paper somewhere, it just always seems to linger, to haunt one’s thoughts. It seems especially true in instances of hardship, as Sohair was saying.
Art, music, nature…these usually inspire.
Other times, it’s just setting the timer for 10 minutes and keeping my hand moving. It is just the practice that frees the mind of junk, I think. It also can reveal unconscious stuff.
It is easy to write when times are “interesting,” but less so in regular times. But the practice is most important, I think.
Your sincere emotions hold the pen for youRobert, your beautiful writings attracted my attention to you,and wished to be friends, now you are my soulmate.
