What is better than the Omnipod 5?

I’ve been using the Omnipod since version 1. Lately, the company does not seem to be as good as it used to be. They have been promising the iPhone app for a long time now, but haven’t delivered. They also say not to upgrade to ios18 because they are not sure how it will work. Well why don’t they test it?

I’m thinking of switching to something else, maybe the Tandem Mobi

Any suggestions and comments will be greatly appreciated.

Using Dash pods and Loop are better than the Omnipod 5.

And there is an iPhone app, because that’s pretty much all it is. :grinning:

I’ve used both Mobi and OM5. To me, the Mobi is better because it allows me to use different infusion sets and to change infusion sites without ditching the whole thing. I actually slightly prefer the OM5 algorithm because it’s more independent of user input but different people will feel opposite ways about that.
The Mobi has a decent iOS app but they also don’t want you to update your phone until they give the go ahead which has yet to happen for the latest iOS.

The app is due out this month I believe. Someone pointed out to me that they always hold back things like this from iphone updates because they just don’t know. And since this will be totally new I think they are just being careful.

iPhone app for G6 only, not G7. No idea when G7 will come out.
But no tubes for me.

I use Omnipod Dash, Dexcom G6 and Trio which is a DIY AID system I built on my PC and loaded onto my iphone. Those are all better than the O5. I started with Loop in 2019 and switched to iAPS last year and Trio just last month. The developers and coders are not constrained by the FDA which allows for much more stream lined adoption of new technology. So I could use the G7 as soon as it came out and I have always had the app on my phone.
