What sort of steel horse do you ride?

My road bike on the worst place to ride it.

I ride a decathlon rockrider 9.2, 2007 edition. It’s light and strong enough for my kind of activities.

a free rider! Great!!

I bought a Klein q carbon. It is a used bike 2003. It is my first road bike. I can’t wait to get out and ride it. Right now Cleveland Ohio is not the place to be to ride.

Im there with you down here in Uniontown, OH! Gotta love NE Ohio when you want to ride!

Currently I ride a Bianchi Veloce but will be switching to the Orbea Onyx TDF when the Team Type 2 order is placed

I’m sorry to admit that at the last second I changed my mind on bikes at the shop. I test rode a Trek Fuel Ex and it was all over. I ordered an EX 8 the very next day. So my new steel horse is a ridiculously awesome Trek Fuel EX 8. I also found a great endurance series in Michigan that I’m going to hit up. Now if only I could get rid of the snow here!

Here are the glamor shots:

I will be riding an Orbea Opal as soon as I finish building it. It is the Team Type 2 team bike.

hello all! i have given up on gears, for now- i love my '08 bianchi san jose single speed. i ride it fixed occasionally… but it’s great either way!

I ride a raggedy 04? Raleigh Sport Compact 7005? (Not sure about name and model but it was a steal at a bike store last year with upgraded 105 components and fresh rubber for $300) I just picked up a leftover Trek 1.5 yesterday and itching to take it out today since it is nice out! Hopefully get around to building myself a fixie this summer too

Hi all,
I can tell by your posts that you are all much better cyclers than I will ever be. Being that I have diabetes and Multiple Sclerosis, My steel horse is a 3 wheeled recumbent tricycle which I’ve had for about 6 years. It’s not a good trail rider so city riding is what I do. My first trip out this year ended up in a crash. Was going up a steep hill and before I could stop it, the bike flipped, and I ended up landing head first on the pavement with the bike on top of me. I love to bike, but I think I’ll stay away from the steeper hills!
I would love to just get on the bike and go, and see how far I could make it. Someday!!!

Edit: Tiagra on the Raleigh

I have a 2006 Trek Pilot 1.0 with about $300 dollars of upgrades on it. I modified the shifters as I hated the little thumb levers. It is set up for touring and i have riden it about 1500 miles since buying it.

I have a trek 1.2, aluminium frame and carbon fork. I do about 400KM a month. I am currently putting money aside to buy and new groupset “SRAM rival”. I’d love a TeamType2 replica kit to promote cycling and diabetes :-).

I mostly ride a 2007 Santa Cruz Nomad in the woods (165mm rear, 160mm front). It’s my do everything bike. I also own a Jamis Dragon that I’ve ridden 5 or so times since building my Nomad. I ride a Raleigh Heritage Professional (2003? and Steel) on the road, and have a partially built Surly Cross Check that I plan to finish one of these days…

I have a 2000 GT XCR 3000. These days I mostly do mountain biking when I actually have the time for it. For the most part I wind up riding on the street since time is a commodity

Wow - that’s more than some people DRIVE! Impressive  I think I’ll be doing good if I finish out the year with 1000 miles… in 5 weeks I’m at 118

I ride a 2007 Specialized Stumpjumper. The last couple of years I would get really sick while riding but now that I’ve been diagnosed with diabetes and know how to control my blood sugar, riding is tons of fun again!!!

I saddle up on a 2006 Canondale Synapse 2. It’s “Patriot Blue”. But the cool thing is looking at it from the top, it’s black. But from the side it’s blue! Just over 3 years old and 5100+ miles!
