I use (and need to use) Apidra so the T-Slim pump didn’t work for me. I ended up with a lot of boxes of the Autosoft 90 and TSlim X2 Cartridges (13 or so of each climate controlled in my closet). They are expired 1-2 years. So should I toss them in the garbage, or does someone have a better idea? I’m not trying to get money from them (frankly I’d be nervous about insurance trying to recoup the funds), but it’s time to just get rid of them.
If you know someone going to an island in the Caribbean, ask them to donate to that island’s Diabetes Association. T1Ds have to pay a lot of of pocket for supplies. I take my extra insulin (that hasn’t expired) to an island in the West Indies. There are very few who have access to a pump and supplies, but they will always appreciate old blood glucose meters and strips and don’t mind if they have expired.
