Both my meters are Accu-chek Aviva that way I only have to get one type of test strip. Also my insurance will only supply one type of strip. I don’t remember ever having a bad strip. I have wasted a few but it was my fault. I also never worry about accuracy too many other things to concern myself with.
I have quit worrrying about anything if it happens deal with it and move on.
I have a spare Aviva meter that my wife used twice (two readings in the memory).
If someone can use that meter, the only cost is $5 to help pay the shipping (which usually runs $7-$8). If interested, please email to precisionworks AT frontier DOT com
The meter came with 10 test strips and 8 of them are left.
I have Accu Chek Performa Nano and my backup is good old Accu Chek Performa. The advantage of having the same brand is that you don’t need to carry around special test strips…
I used to have a third meter with cheap test strips but I found out the readings were off even 40 points so I don’t use it anymore.
I had an Acuchek aviva and really liked it but had to switch to one touch when I got my ping. I did a trade for strips and included the acuchek meter. I didn’t see any point in having two different meters that I would need different test strips for. Since my meter is also my pump remote if it were to go out, I would request a new one to be shipped overnight to me.
When I did have two different meters (one I could get test strips for in Guatemala one I needed to get them in the states) I avoided comparing them because I think that would drive me nuts!
