2010 Diabetic Resolutions

I want to lose 45 lbs, see my bg stabilize in the normal range, and keep my A1C below 7. Below 6 would be even better.

To walk this year’s LA Marathon!

My goal is to lose about 15 lbs by end of March. (Yeah…I know, why so long? Because its so hard!)
I also like to decrease A1C at least by another .1 by March…my next lab blood work.

To write down what i eat and write down my blood sugar numbers everytime i check my blood sugar!

My doctor made me do the same Tyler…for a full year! Its tidious and sometimes annoying…but the data helped my doctor and I manage and control my numbers =)

My resolution is to get my HbA1c consistently below 6% and squat twice my bodyweight for reps.

oh, and I almost forgot, “And world peace!”

My goal is to set the correct time on my blood glucose monitoring system before my next endo appointment on Jan. 4th. Why can’t our blood glucose monitoring systems adjust to time changes, especially when traveling, like our cell phones?

My goals are to lose 20-30lbs and get much tighter control so we can start thinking about the idea of starting our family

My resolutions are
gain 5 more kilos of mucsle
not sh*t my pants when i get a small hypo and treat it with a few glucose tabs and not shoot up to 40000000000000000000000
increase my daily run from 3km to 6km
score more goals (soccer[football]).
and thank god for a wonderful year with wonderful people, and a wonderful website

I would really like to lose at least 10 pounds. I know if I’m not hard on myself now, things will get out of control. Will be cutting down on junk and exercising more.

I plan on writing better logs and actually do it at the time instead of, as I’m currently doing, going back through and playing catch up! It will reduce the amount of stress that I have right before endo visits.

i always make it a goal not to sh*t my pants

Mine is to continue on with what I began with last year - helping others deal with living with diabetes in whatever way I can to make them smile once in awhile. This has been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my short time here on the big blue marble so far since I started taking better care of my health. My biggest project this year is to bring the only English chapter of Diabetes Quebec, the West Island Diabetes Association into the 21st century as well as other online groups around the world with bringing diabetes to the forefront. It’ll be fun juggling all these volunteer jobs, but it makes me feel better.

I just think the more that people become educated about diabetes, the better hopefully it will be for all, diabetic or not!

My ultimate goal is to eat healthy and exercise daily. Those are the two things that I lack on that cause my high BGs. I have gotten better over the past year. My 90 day average is 156 which is better than it’s ever been and I am hoping for 120 for 2010!

Teena and Tyler,

I am in the process of tracking everything I eat right now. It is annoying and I have only really done 4 days worth so far. My last appointment was on December 18th. I am hoping that a week and a bit will do. New Years is going to be a disaster for my BG and food tracking. Wish me luck.

May this be the year you make it happen, man.

—deliver this baby successfully (some time in late Jan/early Feb) without any “special” diabetes issues
—win an appeal against my insurer/employer about my coverage (long story)
—try to keep my blood sugar control and diabetes needs a #1 priority even though my new focus will be on the little one

keep my a1c at 5.5 without a lot of lows like i had when i was on mdi

To make a commitment to myself. A commitment, to the commitment… even when I’m tired, depressed, angry, or frustrated, and I just want to throw in the towel. Plus, figure an indoor exercise routine I can do on days when it’s too horrifyingly cold outside. shrug I just don’t like walking in below 0°F weather. lol

To parent my 7 year old with Type 1, with grace, a sense of humor, compassion and truth.
