There are 69 type 1 diabetics who have received the 75 year medal. The most recent was awarded in October of this year. I will be eligible in the year 2020.

69?? Wow, I didn't think there were that many Type 1's for 75 years. That's Wonderful! I bet there are even more then but they have not registered and/or aren't on the net.
Thank you for letting us know Richard. I'm sure you are excited to be so close to your 75th year with D. I can't wait to see your photo and new medal in 2020. :)
Thanks, Terrie!
So here is what we should do, TuD'ers: Somebody in LA and somebody in SF rent a charter bus then drive it east on the north and southern routes picking up others at prearranged checkpoints and meeting in Boston for Richard's 75th....On second thought why don't we just go with a couple Lear Jets?
Wow! Truly inspiring! Thanks for sharing, Richard. You are a shining light for me. Party in 2020!
Oh Zoe, that is soooo funny! Thanks for the laugh.
Shoshana wins than prize, she has been T1 many years longer than me. I think she already has the 75 year medal. I would love to see her show it here.
