A new way for me!

I’m excited that I went to my doctor today. I went in on the pump today and left NOT on the pump! I think the pump is not for me. I am not the most compliant diabetic in they works and I’ve been struggling since I was put on it 2 years ago. My endo never thought it was a good idea but I insisted that my life would turn around. My a1c was 6.9 and it went up to 9.45. Although it slightly went down to 9.1 he took me off it. I haven’t seen my regular endo in about 2 years. After I was put on it, I moved to Florida and the doc down there just kept trying to work with me on it. I moved back to Boston and worked with my nurse at Joslin diabetes clinic for months trying and trying but getting more frustrated. S finally I went back to my doctor(who’s been my doc since I was 17) I am now 45. After I told him that 8 months ago I needed an ambulance for a low sugar and I’ve been in dka 6 times this year, he took me off the pump! So please wish me luck! I’m so excited!

GOOD LUCK, BUT MAYBE YOU DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH PUMP TRAINING BEFORE GETTING ON THE PUMP OR MAYBE IT WAS THE WRONG PUMP FOR YOU.
GOOD LUCK AGAIN.
HUGS.

MDI is not for everyone, pumps are not for everyone. What works for someone else is irrelevant at the end of the day; each of us needs to find out what regime produces the best results for ourselves. Sounds like you're well on the way to getting that nailed down. Good job!
