I dont think your goig to find many opposing views on the CGMS systems here Dean. Are you looking into getting one? MM has the CGMS that goes with the Revel pump - you can check out some of those on the 1-11 hour and 12-24 hour threads.

I personally use a MM paradigm 722 with a Dexcom 7+ CGMS. I was an early adopter of the MM CGMS and it sucked big time (IMHO). The Dexcom is pretty accurate to within 10mg/dl either way and has been pretty amazing for my control. My only issue is scar tissue and the uncertainty of what lies ahead after having my infusion sets / sensor in me for a number of years. Ive got some spots that are resistant to infusion sets now, so make sure you change your sets often and use a wide verity of sites.

Oh and welcome to the group!

Yeah Thanks for the awesome info!!

That 's the typical feedback and …NOT yet VA (Veterans Affairs Medical) and my DCM (Diabetic Case Manger) I am sure an I know they will borugh beat that in me changing site In fact the Medtronic classes and rep sia that over and over!!!

I am been working on getting a pump w/CGMS for now 17 months since I inquired back in Oct 2009 My primary care is VA Meical System and point blank Tickin my off!!! I did get approved for the PUMP after BEATING DOWN THEIR DOOR for the past 5 months (+12 more)

The VA does and can issue It weather they want to (As I found out) Oh it’s to expensive!!! The only one (VET) they told me they approved one for was a Pregnate Vet…But she got…due her pregnacy! I feel that’s point blank Hmmmm discrimination period!!! I could see if they even said another reason and needed for her entire life then I still would say what about others and myself?? But due to my SEVERE HYPO and even HYPER event (that why they had not issued JUST PUMP to me casue they wanted my lows… like only once a month PERIOD!! Quote unquote!!!

THis is reason (MAIN) typical MAIN REASON why PUMPS and CGMS are issued!!!

They can issue per this directive please read and see what you think?? ( http://www1.va.gov/vhapublications/ViewPublication.asp?pub_ID=2054 ) so I have been using this to get on CGMS THey finally approve pump a week ago (this wasnt my DCM it was an EWndo After I request and POUNDED ON MORE DOORS to get and she is also say now may we’ll see in 6 months after I have been on the pump… I used one to say why… it has the ALERTS nad ALARMS to CHART to to tell and chart my lows… she told me I could sleep through the alarms and still not safe to use???

Anyway thats part of the whole story but I will persivere period and win this not just this battle the war!!! That’s the Good Ole Marine Corps in me!!! I quote A FEW GOOD MEN Col. Jesop!!! You messed with the wrong Marine

ANyway, I hope I get more and more info and comments like yours to educate me even further and help me obtain a piece of equipement to help manage my Diabetes (Type I)

Looking to talk furhter on this and others and using you and other for help in the future on CSII and CGMS’s!!!

Thanx a ton!!!

Welcome to the group, I REALLY LOVE my CGM…I have the Dexcom 7+ I got it last Oct. along with my new pump the Ping, which is replacing the oldie but never the less well loved Deltec Cozmo.

I’ve lowered my A1c from a 8.6 to a 6.5 and I contribute that to the CGM! Fabulous tool for helping with my T1!

I don’t have any flat lines over 3 / 6 hours yet but I’m working on it  I’m learning a lot from reading what is posted here and I’m going in the right direction.

Yay! Im really glad to hear that your A1c has come down so much and the CGM is working so well. Keep up the awesome work GG!

Thanks…
