I have no idea what’s come over me, but since starting on the pod, I have been feeling awesome. A coworker just started P90X and has been taunting me to try it. (The P90X infomercial was also quite compelling – although I also admit to purchasing a Magic Bullet after watching that infomercial.) So I caved, bought the DVDs, and set up an area in the spare garage to get cracking this Saturday morning.
People seem to rave about P90X. If you’re a podder who gave P90X a shot, let me know how it worked for you, basal settings during workouts, what you ate before workouts, pod sticking on, etc.
Wish me luck. I don’t want to put these DVDs next to the Magic Bullet in the closet.
Oh man, I’m a sucker for those informericals! I’ve got the Magic Bullet, got the Beach Body workouts DVDs, my latest one was some dance DVD that is supposed to flatten your stomach - I’m sure it would it I actually used it. My most recent want is that slider thing - you have your knees on this glider and you move back and forth.
Sigh…good luck! The commerical does seem to know what it’s talking about. Keep us updated!
I havent tried that yet im trying the ABS diet first to see how that goes and all you do is buy the bokk, i got it for 7 on ebay. Lol I bought the yoga booty ballet dvds too.
I just started P90X classic on Monday. A friend of mine is in week 11 and impressed the hell outta me so I gotta try it. I am also on the Pod and the only problem i have is the sweating. Last night I did the Plyo DvD and sweat my pod right off my arm. As far as the nutrition plan I am just following my own cuz the P90X has too many carbs for me (daily). I have only had to adjust my temp basal once, last night, but it was cuz I didn’t have a snack right before. I am loving the program so far and Tony is pretty motivating to me. It pushes me harder than any other program I have tried but it feels like it is working. Good luck to anyone else trying it and remember to “Bring It!”
Ive been doing P90X for around 50 days now. Its a great work out if you are in descent condition to begin with, if not, you may struggle a bit. Follow the schedule they set up in the packet because that is the key, muscle confusion. I dont bother with the KenPo and will occasionally skip the yoga. I also ride bikes and run and P90X has been a great cross training tool to help me keep muscle. As far as the nutrition guide goes, I dont follow it. I just eat health and in moderation and it works out well. The only problems you may have are during oblique V ups in the AB video, they can be tough depending on where you put your pod. Anyways, give it a try, if you follow the schedule and work hard, you will see great results!
I agree I am on day 11 in Phase 1 have noticed some difference in body composition already (fat loss/muscle gain). I did the Cardio X last night as a substitute for Yoga X and though I was gonna die after (not really but heart rate was just above target). I find the G2 helps after a workout for recovery especially since it has some carbs in it. My pods are mostly worn on my upper arms so the only problems I have is some of the floor moves. Keep up the great P90X work everybody…
Love that infomercial! I’ve been thinking about getting the P90X for my upcoming 59th birthday so I’ll look totally awesome by the time I turn 60 (not likely, but hey, I can dream!) For those who have tried it, how much space do you need? And is it possible to do any of the weight lifting part at the gym? Not looking forward to buying a bunch of weights to keep at home.
I have a fairly small apartment and I am able to do it in my living room. You dont have to buy weights, you can get the bands, if you are looking to just slim up the bands are the best way to go. They also have interchangable weights so you dont have to have a huge set of dumbbells. I would do the workout at home, you have to do it all at one time, you dont want people getting in your way!
I do the workout in my garage but don’t use up that much room, matter of fact I did my Saturday KenpoX workout in the smallest room in the house. As far as weights go ya don’t need much to start out. Wal-Mart sells a compact set that you can change the plates just by sliding a pin back and forth. They are not that expensive and they are really compact. Good luck!!!
I started doing the Insanity workouts about three weeks ago. I think their very similar to P90X. Just peer CARDIO. My pod seems to get in the way during the stretching part, otherwise its all good with all that jumping. Now my blood sugar is another story! So far I’ve try eating before work out, shutting pod off, and lowering the basal dose during my workout. I think what works good for me is lowering my basal dose, depending on what my blood glucose is. Also eating about 15 carbs and not bolusing seems to work for me.
Okay POD90X’ers where do you wear your pods??? I m still kinda fluffy so I been using my arms. The PODS are sweating off sometimes. I need to try a more comfortable place other than my back just above the belt line too…any suggestions or ways i can wrap or apply somethign else to help the adhesive.
