Best case for protecting your Ping

So I’m getting a replacement pump - the membrane over the buttons came loose on mine… and I am determined to take better care of it (the old one is looking a bit scruffy). What’s the best case out there for the Ping?

I use the leather “case” that came with my pump when I got it in April of 2009. I’ve read that you may have to specifically ask for this now when you order your pump. It’s very sturdy, has a (almost too good) belt clip, and a magnetic AND snap holder to keep the “door” closed over the pump when you’re wearing it. The magnet works so well that I almost never snap the door shut.

The reason the belt clip is “almost too good” is that it can be a REAL problem getting it to slide over a belt now and then. BUT…once it’s on your belt, IT’S ON YOUR BELT! You won’t knock it off!

It DOES come off with s sturdy pull when you need to remove it.

The pump is easy to slide out of the case when you open the little “door”.

I’ve banged into door jams, crashed into “stuff” and had other minor misadventures from time to time while wearing this case, and the pump looks brand new.

Try one of the new rubber skins they sell… I don’t keep mine covered, and haven’t had a problem… but the skins seem like they’d be ok.

As Anne mentioned, the skins are good but I use a black one ocassionally and when I wear it in my pocket, it’s a dust magnet. Might not be as noticeable with a different colored one.

I wish they made skins for the meters. That’s what gets dropped most often.

I bought a cheap cell phone belt clip for the Ping meter at Walmart for about 9 bucks and it works great. I don’t even have to take the meter out of the clip to use it, I can just pull the clip off my belt. I wear it on my belt during the week when I have a suit on and my pump is strapped to my leg.

LOL…i have had 3 pumps replaced because of the ‘rubber casing’ coming off of the buttons. the catch-my son, at the time-age 1 1/2, ATE it.

he started pumping at 17 months and trying to keep it out of his mouth was a task in itself. LUCKILY animas is AMAZING and replaced our pump 3 times!!

ben is NOW 3 and has moved onto chewing gum. thank god, lol.

we don’t have a case for his pump, but we do use a pump belt. we order them from a website called www.spibelt.com

My daughter wears her 2020 pump on her waistband in one of those new skins using the metal clip that came with the pump. Works great to protect the pump from bumps and bruises for sure. Gets dusty as someone already noted. I take it off and rinse it out when we change the cartridge.
