I ate dreamfields pasta with sauce and a meatball for lunch. I also drank a cup of soy milk. My blood sugar dropped in the 1 hour reading from 106 to 94. The same thing yesterday, so I tried it again today to see what would happen and it did the same thing. I was feeling shaky at the 1 hour mark. I haven’t noticed it with other carbs. I take 1000 mgs. of metformin hcl 2 x’s a day. What’s up?
So, I went wild and ate a cheeseburger, fries and chocolate milkshake for supper, (I know, I know). I wanted to see if that would lower my sugar in the 1 hour mark. It didn’t. It raised it by about 30 points. Didn’t check the 2 hour. I felt shaky while it was rising. I know I’m sensitive to epinephrine SP. Do you think it’s the dreamfields pasta? Why would that be?
Dreamfields is a low-carb pasta. At least way less carbs than the burger, fries, and milkshake!
I know, I felt so rebellious. I’m still paying for it. My fasting this morning was 126. But I would still think the pasta would raise the sugar, although I think I read somewhere where people get a delayed rise with it.
My Blood sugar went up 40 points just thinking about a hamburger, fries and milkshake.
Pass the diet coke please, I need a chaser.
Rick
I spike about 7 hours after eating Dreamfields. During the first 2 hours after, I can go low if I dose insulin normally, so I have to be careful with dosing.
Ummm milkshake and fries, my feet just fell of at the sound of those words!
So than what’s the deal with Dreamfields? Is it something I should eat? I have never heard of it, but I googled it and the website claims that it only has 5 carbs? What do you know?
Is this one of those carbohydrate foods that do nothing the day you eat them and then sneak up on you with high BG the next day? I’ve run into a couple things that take so long to digest that you don’t see the sugar spike until you test the next morning - like refried beans. I would love it if this was not like that! I’ve been missing spaghetti . . . But I don’t think I could eat just a small serving of this pasta, so my restraint would vanish in an instant.
Oh no, I’ve been craving pasta all day now. I’m so easily influenced!
