There was a recent Google update for the Pixel 2 Watch. The Blose App will no longer work as a watch face… I use Dexcom G6. Anyone have any work arounds? I love having my glucose and a graph on my wrist to glance at while at work.
The Blose watch face is not working on the Pixel Watch 2, but if you go to your apps on your pixel watch, you can click on Blose and it still shows the graphs, config, logs and my favorite the raw data. Hopefully the face will return soon.
When I go to my app on the watch, I can’t see any of my data. A notification pops up that ‘Blose requires permission to schedule exact alarms…’. It takes me to a screen to change those settings ‘Alarms and Reminders’, but there are no options there for me to change. I’ve dug through all the settings and can’t do anything in order to see my data.
I’m still running G6 so I switched to the Dexcom G6 app watch face, but I don’t love it.
I am not touching anything these days on the Blose app because the watch face kicked in and out for a few days before going dark. Android is making so many changes these days + Dexcom is not compatible with Android 15, while Android 16 has been released in beta so I am just going to wait for the dust to settle a bit before doing anything. I did send an email to the Blose developer for an update but no response yet. I think everyone in android land is scrambling these days with all the changes.
I Just received this from Blose developer so I guess wait and see for now:
I’m guessing that your watch just received Wear OS 5, and google has changed a few things in that version. You are impacted by two things.
Wear OS 5 no longer allows apps to have watchfaces in them. There’s a Blose version for Wear OS 5 that is exposing more data through complications, and then I’ve created a separate pure watchface that can be used together with Blose, to mimic the old look.
Google does unfortunately have a bug in Wear OS 5 for Pixel watches. The Wear OS 5 version of Blose requires a scheduling permission, but the permission dialog, which is a part of the OS, doesn’t work on Pixel watches.
