My grocery store used to carry unsweetened no sodium puffed wheat.I would like to know if any Windsorites know of where I can get some.
Sorry can't help you with the cereal, Dee. You might want to post on the Canada group or google the manufacturer for information.
Personally I had a wonderful market that carried every unsweetened, healthy, high fiber, etc cereal known to man (and woman). I tried several of the most likely ones and they all spiked my blood sugar into the 200s. I can't eat cereal. Sigh.
Same here Zoe. Cold cereal used to be my favorite night time snack, now every single type of cereal sends me super high. It stinks.
Sorry to be responsible for the third negative response in a row, but . . .
Breakfast cereals are persona non grata in our house. My experience with them is the same as Zoe's.
For a while I was eating steel cut oatmeal in the foolish belief that its lower glycemic index would make a difference. Silly me. It didn't. The marketing people and book-writing "experts" said it would but my meter said no.
Sorry, experts -- I believe the meter.
Bottom line is, grains are no [bleeped] good for me. Full stop.
Hi, have you asked the store manager? He may be able to assist you in figuring this out. Nancy
I called the store and found out that they don't carry it anymore because it is in low demand.I have been trying different brands of cereal without much luck.My motherinlaw found it at Kroger in the US as I am in Ontario.I tried the Fiber One original with 3/4c of 2% milk and Source yogurt which is sweetened with sucroloseI mix the source yogurt with 1/3 c of Biobest plain yogurt.I still spike a bit.So I am thinking to cut out the milk and mix the cereal in with the yogurt.
