Can you "feel" your blood sugar?

You are absolutely correct - if your sugars are used to being high your body gets used to it…so when you try and keep them lower, your body has to acclimate to the lower numbers. It is hard to “sit it out” and if you have a CGM it is better to see the rate of the rise and fall…its how fast the numbers go up or down…once they level off you can get used to the lower ranges.
There were many times, many years, when I did not have the luxury of testing, no meters, and then it was a complete guessing game. Nine times out of Ten you are wrong !!

Yes, yes you can. Pretty easily too. After you run around 120 for a few days your body will adjust to it, and then after a few weeks running there, anything that’s NOT near your normal range will feel odd to you. Sometimes i still miss horribly with my guesses (i’ll be saying “It’s high, it’s high, it’s high” and then a 100 pop up) but everyone does. Most of the time you can feel it pretty reliably though. It’s NOT a substitute for checking though. It’s a “Crap, i forgot my meter and idk what my sugar is” thing. You can guess then, but NEVER give yourself insulin unless you know what your bg is. EVER.

Nope. I get certain sensations in my arms when my sugar is very elevated but on a daily basis I can’t tell. Unless I am low. I’m able to identify a low by how my thought process changes. Just now I was 65 and checked because I was concentrating on a detail that was insignificant. Sure enough, it was time for some glucose tabs.

somewhat, if it goes below 60 I start seeing circles and stars. and at night when I lie down if it is over 120 I have pounding in the ear.

I’ve always heard of socialist pigs. Now I know it’s true HaHa

I have some symptoms that can guide me, particularly when I am going too low, but I agree that there are many things going on that may not have anything whatsoever to do with blood sugar. It’s always best to test.

I’ve been doing this since 1958. I can tell if I am below 70/60. The highs are more difficult
