Greetings:
My wife is a diabetic and I am giving her twice daily injections. Maybe because it a mixed dose, I am somewhat nervous about putting the second dose in the syringe. You know, if the clear ® insulin gets into the cloudy (N) insulin, the cloudy insulin is ruined, etc. My wife tests her blood and she has to wait for me to fill the syringe. She hasn’t grown accustomed to her needles (and perhaps never will) so there is a little pressure on me. The question is, is it possible to make a mixed dose in advance and, if possible, how far in advance? I know that injecting cold insulin can be very painful so perhaps making it in advance and storing it in the fridge is perhaps not feasible. However, any information anyone can give me is greatly appreciated.
