Been on the pod for a couple months now and I'm usually pretty careful. I was at work this afternoon and things were really moving and I'm at the point that I completely forget about even wearing a pod. Was on the move and tried to squeeze by someone else thru a doorway and... SNAG! Caught the pod on the doorway. Holy balls that hurt!! Had to go to the bathroom a few minutes later and check to see if the canula came out. I was quite impressed that it was still in. It must take quite a hit for it to pull out.
I have had that problem when I wear the pod on my arms or lower back. Then it takes hours to figure out whether or not the canula is dislodged. I wish there were a better alarm for a disengaged canula!
Not so much with the new pods, but I remember a couple of times going around a corner and the actual pod ripped right off, sticky part stayed on but pod was on floor. I have managed to run into people (and doorways) with the new ones and so far I haven’t pulled the cannula out.
When I was "training" to wear the Omnipod, I had a non-functioning unit on my arm so I could get used to wearing it. Within 2 hours I whacked it on a doorway and tore it right off my skin. OWIEEE! Boy it was tough to get that out of my system before going real time with the Omnipods! :) Since then I've not had as much trouble anymore. I did teach myself to not skim through doors too quickly. The one thing I'm still working on is getting undressed carefully depending on where the pod is. That can be a "ripping" good time! O.O
I had 2 or 3 of these, a long with a dozen or so "hits" before I adjusted my internal "sense" of body extent so it stopped happening.
The other one that tool me awhile relearning was how to put on, and especially take off, a T-shirt without snagging on the pod.
