How I’m starting to dread those 3 words. I know I’m probably being overly sensitive or just paranoid, but I just can’t stand it when I’m told to check your sugar. I have noticed even when my sugar is fine and I show an extreme emotion or am arguing a point, I’ll get the check your sugar. Now that the holidays are coming around, I’m dreading the social interactions involved and the balance of maintaining tight control without going too low or too high. A non-diabetic has no idea the work in balancing a normal blood glucose level. I guess I’m just venting out of frustration. I know people mean well, but it does annoy me.
I hear you. I also get a pit peeved when I hear the “check your sugar” comment just because i am showing an emotion other than happy go lucky. I guess we didnt get the memo that states people with diabetes are not allowed to get mad when their sugar is in range. Any hint of annoyance must mean we are out of whack.!
the blood sugar/food police are annoying as hell! just remember, that you are cared about and they want you healthy.
The curse of diabetes, everybody wants to blame your mood on diabetes when it just might be your mood for the day.
LOL
I hear you too. I get tired of everyone when they say “Check your BG”… I get that every day though from my kiddos and my hubby!
It’s good to hear that I am not the only one who is told to “check my sugar.”
Oh yeah! I’m know we all get that. Luckily, I don’t get it near as much as I used to. I guess it is a good thing in a round about way sometimes, since I can’t always feel my low blood sugars. For instance, my step-dad can almost always tell when I am having a low. So even though it can be a pain since people try to blame any mood on diabetes, it has been helpful at times. Oh well. You take 6 of one or half a dozen of the other. It balances out in the end for me.
