Does anyone know if Chromium helps lower blood sugar levels? I heard that this lowers sugar levels in the body?
Depends, I think. The following is what I figure:
Chromium is necessary to use the insulin to process the glucose in your body. If you are not chromium deficient, I wouldn’t think it would help. I never tried it, because I heard that it makes some diabetics too low, and I figure insulin to carb ratios are hard enough to figure out without adding another variable.
Definitely ask your doctor for your case what he/she thinks. At least consider their input, and if you do start, watch out for lows.
We have had a lot of discussions on chromium. I encourage you to click on Forum and type chromium in the search bar for even more feedback. In general, our members here have had mixed results with chromium. It did nothing for me, personally.
