Hi all,
I’m new here and this is my first post. Does anyone here hear that regular colon cleansing would help to manage diabetes? Recently I read an article regarding this ( Clear Living Clinic | Colonic Toronto | Colon Cleanse ). I’m not sure about scientific proof or evidence regarding this statement. This is a new information for me. I don’t have any idea about colonics If anyone had tried it before, then kindly share your experience. It would help others to get to know about new tips and treatment techniques for this condition.
Your body makes a very efficient job of cleansing your colon naturally. I have never heard that colonic cleansing helps manage diabetes, but I would just add it to bitter melon, cinnamon, etc. Insulin or metformin does a far better job of helping you manage your diabetes.
Good luck,
Hi Pastelpainter,
Thank you for your response.
Although this article is six years old it should give pause of thought when considering “colon cleansing.”
The same cautions apply to “liver cleansing.”
Sticking to the specific question raised, I have to say that it sounds like science woo.
If you have Type 1 diabetes, your beta cells have been compromised by an autoimmune attack and cleaning the colon is not going to influence your immune system to back off and change its ways.
If you have type 2, the mechanisms are different but I have never seen a single scrap of credible peer
reviewed evidence of any connection between cleaning the colon and insulin resistance, insulin function, or any other part of the metabolic processes comprising diabetes. Not an iota.
Definitely medical woo. Snake oil is likely less expensive.
