Dexcom G4 Case

Hi everyone,

I just got my new Dexcom G4. I’m excited to start using but have a tendency to drop things. Does anyone know of a great case for it with a viewing panel for the readings? I would love something like the old silicone case or even a leather type case with clear cover. Thanks.

I took the provided belt loop case, but cut the belt stitches off to remove the metal parts, and cut a hole for the screen. Ta-da!

Tallygear makes one.

I've been using it regularly for several months.
Only drawbacks:
1) moisture sometimess accumulates between the plastic screen of the TG and the display on the G4. Rubbing a dry tissue removes it.
2) you can't hear the vibratory alert when it's in the TG case.

Vera Bradley makes one I love, I have them in dozens of colors: http://www.verabradley.com/product/Category/IDs-and-Lanyards/Zip-ID-Case/154781/defaultColorVariantId/182503/pc/638/c/0/sc/1003/p/154781.uts it’s protective and cute. You just need to turn it inside out, cut out the divider, and you’re good to go.

I just use the provided case. It’s snug and protective. To keep the screen visible at all times, I just flip the cover backwards and button the flap button to the button on the back of the case. That does leave the bottom slot where you slide the receiver into the case open, but I usually have it in my purse so it doesn’t matter much to me. I am still searching for the perfect alternative but for now, this works  I know there is a specialty shop called shapeways that has developed a case but I haven’t tried it yet. Check it out and see if you like it! I know several folks on TuD have ordered it.

We use this one. It is a Brixometer made by Shapeways. We have only had it about 6 months or so but we like it. http://www.shapeways.com/model/819600/brixometer-case.html

Since my daughter is only 8 and does not carry a purse or anything she also wears a Spibelt around her waist.

I have both the tallygear case and the shapeways harder case. Both are good but both are fairly costly. What someone suggested is a silicone case for an Insignia Pilot MP3 player

It's cheap, and comes with arm band and belt clip and the G4 fits in it almost perfectly.

Look at Zune HD Action Jacket case too. I got one, and it's just slightly larger than the Dex, but has a full vinyl front so you don't have to worry about the cutout being in the wrong place like the Insignia.

tallygear.com great items.i'm using their's with a cabiner and lanyard, helps me keep it nearby

love the tallygear cloth ones.

I am glad to find this discussion. My new Dexcom G4 arrived today, but I don't like the case at all! I have been wearing my Dexcom 7+ for 2+ years, and modified that case by adding a carabiner (much more secure). Based on comments here, I just purchased the Tallygear. Thanks!

The Tallygear one IMO couldn't be designed better for my needs. I ended up ordering a second (both fabric),

let us know what you think!

My daughter was ok with the case that came with the Dexcom and wanted to use a belt clip and not an actual belt. She doesn't pump yet so it's the only device she is wearing. I wanted it to be something cuter for an 8 year old and give it a little color since we kept "losing" the black case when we laid it down in the house. We just ordered the belt clip case from tallygear in a tie dye pattern and she adores it. It's a little lower profile and she doesn't have to open it up to see her numbers.

If you need a hard plastic case, there a whole lot of varieties available here:
