I was just notified that the warranty expired. Do I have to go through the trouble of getting a new Dexcom every year? Does anyone do this or is it all right to wait until it looks like it is on it way out?
I don’t get a new Dexcom receiver every year. They are designed to easily last longer than that. If you get a new system then you’ll have a ready back-up system if your current one fails or is lost. Dropping a receiver in water is a common hazard.
I had the G5, but wanted to revert back to the G4 so that was the primary motivation to replace my last year-old G5.
I’m looking forward to the release of the G6. Last timeline I remember was sometime in 2018. If you want to move quickly to the G6, you may want to make sure you’re eligible for a replacement when that happens.
Thank you, I think I can wait and talk to my doctor when I see her. It was a struggle getting this one but if I need to I can make the attempt again when I need to.
