Dexcom G7 would like to find and connect

Has anyone using Dexcom G7 app on IOS (Iphone) recently had any permission pop out today?
“dexcom g7” would like to find and connect to devices on your local network.
The only option is Don’t allow or Allow.
My dexcom G7 is already connected and i was using it, and it happened just now during the grace period. But the grace period did not just start, and did not end yet. I did not choose yet. usually the only connection Dexcom g7 requires is a bluetooth pair permission during initial insertion for the transmitter connection. Never seen this before. Any feedback?

I would not allow it. Why do they need to connect to your other devices?

Is it looking for a pump?

The dexcom app does not connect to pumps.

Here’s the Apple article on the message: If an app would like to connect to devices on your local network - Apple Support

TL;DR Always say no because you can easily change the setting later if needed. “Local Network” in this case is an IP address on the same subnet as the phone usually determined by the gateway address and subnet mask. Bluetooth doesn’t use IP addresses.

I can see how the message could pop up due to conditions outside the app. It’ll be interesting to hear if others using the G7 app have seen this same message.

My doctor wanted a connection to the “Glooko” app, but check with doctor to make sure.

Yes I did not allow it either. Just restarted the phone and it disappeared.

Does anyone know how close Omnipod 5 is to getting FDA approval for Dexcom G7? Tandem got it?

Yes Tandem got it, I am using it with Tandem on limited launch since mid November last year. iLet (Beta Bionics) also got it integrated with Dexcom G7 since mid December last year. No idea about Omnipod 5 though. The FDA approval is not the only issue. Usually everything gets FDA approved than it takes way much longer for the companies to release it to the public.

They just require Bluetooth Bluetooth is used by almost everything to connect from the Dexcom G7 to your iPhone. That’s what I understand - it won’t do anything else but connect to the device that you’re using.
