I have ordered from many of the AdaptHealth company. And over the years, I have moved around for coverage not being available in my state etc. Well I am currently ordering from one that pushed hard for me to switch to G7. Pushed hard, like they didn’t have enough, pushed hard, And I said right now, I need things to stay the same as I don’t need more headaches learning a new system right now. So she grudgingly ordered G6’s for me. My order came in with only 2 boxes, not 3. So I called thinking it was, they indeed have run out of G6’s, but no that was not the issue. They “always” do this. The short the October delivery and push a regular one for deductible reasons.
I was amazed that a supply company was making those decisions for people. I was upset because I sometimes still have FSA money and don’t want to lose that, so let me be the judge of that. And not everyone has a massive deductible issues. Usually for my family by March we are free and clear sometimes sooner. But I was really pissed that they were over riding my prescription of 3, to 2 now and than 3 in December. I asked to speak to a supervisor. And I was told again that, they always do this due to to people’s deductible. But I was just not understanding how they could make that call, when they have no idea what someone’s FSA account might look like and my deductible and the next person’s deductible look different.
I I guess every October I will be calling and asking to speak to a supervisor to make sure I get my correct prescription and I will use whatever I have left in my FSA. But wow, supply companies just send what they want when they want. Just not happy right now.
And this is after fighting with dentist office and insurance not on the same page. The insurance nightmares just never end. Every month it’s something.
egregious and sadly, all too common. The supply companies, the MD office-people, the run around almost feels intentional. Supervisors usually have NO authority. They are supervisors in “name” only. Kinda like going to a car dealership…smoke and mirrors only life is on the line. ought to be criminal.
I use Byram. It’s all done by text. They text me that it’s time to order and I just reply order. They check my insurance and send it out.
It’s only an issue when something changes, like when I switched to G7. That required a phone call from me and my doctor.
Otherwise I have never had a problem
Edwards health care has been trouble free for my wife. Ten years +.
I can also vouch for Edwards. I’ve never had a problem with them. They staff the phones with people who know what they are doing, makes a big difference.
@Sally7 I’m with you on this. At least you have the dogs to bring you joy while you are on the phone with the lunatics. I just got off the phone with Edgepark. It was one lie after another. Me: when was the last time you contacted the doctors office for the DWO? Edgepark: How many times do you inject per day? Me: You can’t answer a question with a question…
If you are old enough you could always turn them in for elder abuse.
I use to use a company out of Arizona. Up to just prior to the pandemic the use to send 3 box’s plus one. The extra one was for if shipping was slow. This worked out well for several years . Then they stop and wouldn’t ship until the last 5 day of my last sensor. Still left me with no sensor several times. I just in the last year I discovered that the V.A. Will supply the same with NO CO-PAY this leaves more money in my S.S. account.
I read that Dexcom CGMs are available at Walgreens, now.
I’ve been getting my Freestyle Libre CGMs there for years.
I don’t know how some of you can switch among so many different companies. Even before I retired Fed BCBS only had a couple of companies on their list. I am not happy with CCS, where I am now. Mainly because they bug me to death with text messages, even when I am not due. They have supposedly stopped that many times but the texts keep coming.
I have an order, that I didn’t want, on its way. I will see how many pump supplies I have but CCS only gives 30 day supplies for my G6. I don’t know why.
I have CCS and they perform very well for me. They give me a 90-day supply for Dexcom. However, I had to sign a request and some sort of waiver with CCS to get the 90-day supply. Additionally, I am on Medicare and have been on the G7 since it was launched as an upgrade to the G6. I, therefore, don’t know if it was the request and waiver, Medicare, or G7 that allowed me the 90-day supply, but very convenient to order and get the supplies through the mail.
I used Solara (an Adapt Health Company …) for Dexcom for a long time with numerous issues. I have used US Med for the past several years and couldn’t be happier. Text message to reorder, everything shows up promptly and correctly. Sadly, US Med can’t to Tandem t:slim cartridges and infusion sets (at least under Medicare). For those, I still use Solara and just received another messed up order.
Does anyone know if Bryan or Edgepark will cover Tandem t:slim cartridges and infusion sets under Medicare.
Thanks,
John
I’m on United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan. I receive all my Tandem and Dexcom supplies from Byram. Never any problems. I receive all my drugs from OptumRx.
