I've always wanted to get a tattoo stating that I was a diabetic just in case there was an emergency where I couldn't talk paramedics would see. But I have no idea what I would like to get. So if you've got a Diabetic tattoo I would like to see a picture of it please!!!

I spent way too much time going back and forth about a tattoo (If I should get one or not and, if so, what kind). So, the other day I took off for lunch, went to a reputable parlor and just did it. Nothing fancy, just a medical alert tattoo on my forearm. No problem healing (It's been about 4 days). I do have other ink done pre-diagnosis. Mine just states "Type 1 Diabetic". I travel a great deal for work (alone) and have had one scary incident. Having the tattoo instead of a bracelet is a lot more convenient. Being recently diagnosed (at 45 yrs old) it is also an issue of "owning" my diabetes and is a permanent reminder that I need to take it seriously even as certain aspects become more like a habit. I've always wanted to get one too, but I've never really wanted to pay the expensive prices of getting a tatoo. GeekDaddy, how much did you have to pay for your Tatooo?

i like the simple (type 1 diabetic) or (Diabetic) on the wrist looks like the best. I think hello kitty was the worst of the lot, thanks for the pictured Miss Swiss.

I looked at them all, there is one of hello kitty that leaves me wondering. Yes you can tell it is hello kitty but it is really poorly done. Some of the others also look really poorly done.
