How did your husband know it was the swine flu and not a regular one if he didn’t go and get tested? Did he just assume that it was or did he know where he got it from?
I am not sure that is what I had but that is what my ex thought. Won’t ever know now.
I had the flu shot and I have been sick with a cold for over a month now,right now my throat is so sore and I don’t know what to do about it. Usually I would drink green tea and honey and eat peppermints and that usually puts me right, but now I am T2 I am thinking I may need antibiotics. And, of course, to add to my misery it is a public holiday today…
He talked his doctor about it after the fact and the doctor said he had the swine flu. There were no tests but the symptoms matched up.

Yes, everyone in our family does. The kids and I did before dx, and my husband got one if it was convenient (really convenient), but now he doesn’t have the option to skip.
However, if you got the flu already this year, the shot probably wouldn’t have helped you. Most people are just now getting them, and it takes a while for the immunity to fully develop.
Last year around here, it was assumed that if you had the flu, it was swine. They weren’t even trying to confirm which kind of flu kids had at the children’s hospital. But they did have to set up a huge tent outside the hospital to triage all the kids with the flu. That’s an experience I would happily go my whole life without experiencing.
