OH MY GOODNESS Sohair…I’m spellbound! This is breath taking…tell me about the painting.
WAS that a painting Sohair…or a photo (of the play/production)
distance doesn’t necessarily mean distance.
voices echo in the wind.
the constant wind blow,
perpetuate endless possibilities.
~Walnut~
Hi Walnut, All… I’ve been reading and rereading the poetry here and it remains inspiring. Sometimes it’s difficult to keep writing in this crazy, sometimes crushing world. Thanks to everyone who has helped to fill these pages.
A largemouth bass
Breaks the surface
Our lungs on hold
dehydrated hocus pocus on my focus
twitchin out in a house with fluorescent post its
as I lay my head upon a fabled table
I grow a lotus out a mind boggle cause I AM able
i've lanced the bone
and recoiled my hand
for this ruby red
my number
is grand
Canines' Tanka
Morning snow in shades
of silver white. The sun hides.
Foxes curl in dens.
I stare, bleakly. Golden dogs
nudge me gently: check your blood!
I love reading the poetry on here. Is anyone thinking of creating another book? Perhaps a certain type of poetry that everyone can try out like Trudy's Haiku?
I like Joanne's idea. Following up on her thought, perhaps we could put out a second edition with added chapters. Haiku and tankas are fun to write!
Mistress Binky, beautiful cinquain!
It's exciting to have our Poetry Club become more active. Love your poems, Don.
Love your poems Miss Kitka!

A Love Reciprocated
The most wonderful part about an existence
Is when the love you give
Is finally reciprocated.
To be able to say,
"Te quiero, mi amor"

Beauty
The rainbow in the sky
reminds me of your beauty.
The beauty that your eyes represent
is that of a brown setting
along the mountains
at the end of a long day.
While your mouth full of red,
reminds me of a red rose
in the rose garden of love.

Distance
When night falls
and the moon shines,
sitting on a bench
looking at a waterfall,
listening to the sounds of silence.
The sounds of the night become clear.
The owl in the distance,
the sounds of the birds all but to clear
and the only lights are those
of the moon and a small lantern
sitting next to me.
That is when nature is at its best,
and one can't help but wonder...
Why can't my life be this calm,
simple and clear.
Why can't I be next to the one I love,
and I realize,
distance is nothing but a place.
Then a wolf howls at the moon.
The same moon that I
and the one I love are dreaming under.
And the wolf pack can't be far behind.
For distance is nothing but a place.
And a place in my heart,
for the one I love,
will always exist.

Distant Love
While wondering if I'll ever get the chance
to tell you in person
I love you.
I keep thinking to myself
as I look up at the stars
when will I be able to see you?
I keep asking the moon
up in the sky
when will I be able to hold you in my arms?
As I look up at the moon and the stars
full of white in that dark sky
I keep thinking how wonderful things would be.
As I look up at the sky
looking at the white clouds within the blue sky
I keep thinking of your blue eyes.
Your wonderful blue eyes
and your beautiful smile
all combined with that cute little laugh.
All keeps me wondering
as I ask the moon and the stars
will I ever be able to hold you in my arms?
and whisper softly in your ear
I love you.
