You prefill your cartriges for your pump and stickem in the frig, if it losses its potency over time, I fill bout 3 bottles of them and stick em in the frig?
It’s not recommended, the plastic can compromise the insulin.
I agree. The cartridges being to ‘degrade’ after a while and the plastic and whatever is used to lubricate the inside of the cartridge can compromise the insulin quality. You can prefill one to use in a few days…but prefilling 3 bottles worth probably isn’t the best idea.
Do you have any reason to think its losing its potency for you? If so, try not doing it that way for a while and see if anything changes.
Hi ricky, what kind of insulin are you using? I suspect Apidra degrades rather quickly since it won’t last more than 36 hours in my pump.
