Explaining diabetes to preschoolers

My daughter has started at a new preschool and there are lots of questions from curious kids about her diabetes (finger pricks etc.) I am trying to answer them best I can but they still look really confused. Does anyone have any material or books to suggest to help explain on a very basic level?

Do you have the Disney / Lilly Diabetes books with CoCo the monkey (who has T1D)? We got one in the hospital last year - "CoCo and Goofy's Goofy Day" and today at the JDRF Walk I picked up the second book in the series, "CoCo Goes Back to School." The Lilly reps gave me 4 or 5 of each book to take to my daughter's daycare. These books are a great place to start for preschoolers. Your ped endo should have them. If not, I'm sure you could contact your local Lilly rep to get your hands on them.

Check out this web site for pretty good children's books
