FWIW I have had issues for years with all the CGMS stuff. Back of arms and upper rear are the only areas that work for me. I am thin. I do think the angle on Dexcom can help and with Medtronics the arms worked best. I do not need to angle with Dexcom at all and I use Dex mainly on my upper rear. With Medtronics my arms worked great. But with both of them stomach and legs were a no, no, no.
The first time I used my thigh I put it half way down my upper leg. Numbers were way off. Someone on this board told me to move it to around 4 inches down from where the leg ends. Since I did that the numbers are very good. I prefer the inner thigh.
i cant even imagine placing a sensor there. i am way too thin to pinch up even a 1/2 inch of flesh
@Daisy_Mae Right. I suppose a young child would have more fat…enabling her/their growth.
that makes perfect sense. i didnt even think of that. i was an extremely skinny kid, so it just didnt occur to me.
I guess it would be considered a favorite, if it is the only place I’ve ever tried - my belly, off to the far side. I have had great success (typically 21+ days for one sensor) so I’ve never seen a reason to try another location.
i am so happy for you. i do admit, though, that i am very envious. i wish my situation were as easy and smooth sailing.
I’ll keep good thoughts going that your situation changes, for the better!
Here’s hoping
I agree, I just tried this approach of “rocking the inserter” to reduce the angle of the insertion (it goes in a little more shallow) … and it worked so well I plan on doing this every time now.
