Where do I pump my pump when I have my site on my arm. I know the pump is water RESISTANT but I don’t like that it would have skin contact and be therefore touching my sweat. I don’t have the luxury of having long tubing (I have 32 in Sure T), so I can’t slip it down to my waist. I put it in my cleavage during the day, but when I workout, I need to have it in a more secure place. Any suggestions or personal experiences? Thanks!
Here’s my “Batman Utility Belt”, note the Mk IV binder clip to serve as a stanchion upon which to belay the pump tubing and/or headphone cords? I also have learned that a One Touch UltraMini will clip into the bottle clips, as long as I use the velcro. I only have 23" tubing so 32 is plenty!
Yes, but can you stretch that measly 23" tubing up to a site on your arm. I don’t care what kind of bat tools you have in dem pockets, I think even a 32 inch tube may not even make it from your waist, all the way up your shoulder and down your arm. I think the only practical option is an arm band. The only other option might be a holster, but running down the street with what looks like a gun might not be good.
I dunno, I haven’t used my arms but an extra foot of tube can go a long way? It also probably would depend on how big you are? Just running my pump up to my shoulder it seems as if it’s long enough? One of these days maybe I’ll give my abdomen a rest? I have some ipod holders that are arm bands that would work pretty well but I can’t stand loose tubes, particularly when I run, so the extra tubing would likely be an annoyance to me.
spibelt is great (I have four) but if your site is on your arm get an armband of the type used to carry MP3 players and iPods. That way you can strap it near the site and avoid getting tangled in tubing.

A few years ago, Minimed said their pump was waterproof - they went back on that when they found micro cracks and things. But, it still is pretty much waterproof. I put mine in a thin cloth cellphone case (fits nicely in iphone cases) and put it in my bra. You could also put it in a small “pillow case” that you make yourself or have made. there are lots of neoprene iphone cases, which would give you an extra level of protection. Just make sure you take it out of the damp case ASAP?
That’s really helpful! I’m thinking I’ll just put it in a small sandwich bag and wrap it in cloth and stuff it in my bra. That doesn’t sound very comfortable to me, but I don’t have access to an arm band. Thanks for the idea!
I would have to agree with bsc, and the tubing won’t reach down to my waist, but this “Batman Utility Belt” idea seems really neat. Next time I have an abdomen site, I’m going to check this out.
To clarify, the belt I have is an Amphipod belt, they come with like a drink holder and a pocket but are sort of modular so you can choose a bags and clips to fit your needs. I have 3x pockets and 3x clips for drinks, and have used one for the meter, although only for experimental purposes as I’ve only run a few times since I discovered that when the meter hasn’t been too cold to use outside. I have phone in one, keys/ ipod in the other one and then a couple bags of jelly beans in the third thing and just clip the pump to the belt. I like the Amphipod belt b/c it’s elastic and doesn’t bounce the way my Spibelt did.
