Dear friends, I just received this message this morning:
"Marie - This is Tom, Reed's nephew. Reed fell early Thursday morning and fractured his left hip. He is in the hospital at the moment. Had surgery Thursday late afternoon and he's now on the mend. They're doing a little PT in the hospital before sending him to a rehab center probably Sunday afternoon. He said not to worry but please let everyone know that he'll be away from email and blogging for a while. Starting Monday he'll be at: Attn: Reed K. Taylor c/o Moultrie Creek Rehab Center, 200 Mariner Health Way, St. Augustine, FL 32086. Ph: 904-797-1800. He will probably be there a minimum of two weeks depending on his PT and recovery. So send good thoughts and prayers his way! He'd love to hear from you all! -Tom. "
I'm sending him a card now. (He loves cards)

My friend, you are the best. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Remember we all want you to recover and when you get a chance check and say hi. I miss you terribly already. But in the mean time, know we have this covered, you can get well and take your time doing so.
Oh Reed, you Dear Man! I'm Very sorry to learn of your accident. We will surely miss your smiling face and welcoming comments.
Do as Rick says. Take your time to rest and recover well in your own time. You'll be missed but we will happily welcome you back when you are ready. I've lit a blessed candle for you in my home and I will say a prayer for you for your recovery.
I broke my hip a year and a half ago after falling in the parking lot of my work. It was a long recovery but I managed to get through it. You will too. Best of luck with your recovery.
Gator,we are all missing you and thinking of you all the time.I was thinking this morning how we join Tud because diabetes has touched all our lives. Then from there lasting friendships are formed..and we care deeply for each other.God Bless You friend and get well soon cause it is not the same here without you..
"Accessing my email with Tom's iPhone in the rehab center. Marie, I'm up and around with a lot of pain and difficulty but I'm doing it and I washed myself today and I got shaved but then they came and dropped a bomb - I need a transfusion! so after I have my dinner I'm going to that. They say it will take about two hours. I don't know what dropped my blood so low but that's the story. Say hi to everyone for me. The current phone number is 904-342-4535. Call anytime. If I'm in therapy or not in it'll just ring. No voicemail. Tom and Russ are going to bring me some Easter ham tomorrow. It'll be the best food I've had all week! Happy Easter! -Reed"
