As we get used to our new home, I know things seem really different. I want all our long time members and volunteers to have a place to meet and try out things. Don’t worry about making mistakes or anything, we’re all learning! So this is you roll call, check in and let us know how you’re doing.
Hey I learned something new! I “pinned” this topic so it will appear at the top of the “Community” category. so if you want to find it quickly (if you don’t see it in “latest” topics, click on the 3 stacked bars on the upper right (which is called “the hamburger”) and then scroll down a bit until you see the “community” category.
I thought I saw you seeing @kathy earlier today… Haven’t seen the others, though I think that I did see @seagator post something on another forum recently. Could be wrong though - I get told that a lot.
Thas, not sure if you noticed but apparently the person who the username seagator on the old site does not have that username now. I say this based on the fact that in your post @seagator was not highlighted.
If Discourse recognizes the name following the @ character as a user name then it will highlight it. For example: @irrational_John versus @seagator.
Could the person you were trying to notify now have the userid @SEAGATOR1?
Probably. Like I’m @Thas1 in this profile (because I have/had an old apparently replaced profile on Ning)… Was just replying to @MarieB’s question, though.
Hi Marie so glad to see this post ! I feel a bit like a fish out of water trying to find my way around Tud. A happy fish liking the new look of Tud …but still learning at my slower pace…
@trish1 let me know who you’re looking for and I’ll find them for you. If you have personal emails to friends you can’t find here, you might want to send them a link to this post from Brian, explaining how the log in process is working a the moment
I got an email from Reed this morning. He recently fell out of his bed, but he didn’t do any damage. He took some things out of his bedroom so that might help. He needs help with the password change so I helped him out with that. When he gets his password changed, hopefully he’ll find this discussion. I’m determined to keep our flock together!!!
Marie, for some reason Brian’s post about passwords was quoted but a link back to his original post was not added. So … I’ve added (below) a link to Brian’s complete post about the “current process” for changing a password. Current Process For Setting Passwords
I also tried to quote Brian’s complete discussion to see if I could get Discourse to include the link to that it. It seems to have sorta worked. The link to his post is included in the quote, however, the link to Brian’s user profile got messed up. Oh, well. Early days …
Marie—Sorry to keep pestering you—Is this Reed post the only Pathway to the Community Category? I don’t see how else to get to Community from the Home Page…xx000
