Had a Pod change and the infusion site had a pretty big bump. Bad insertion?

Before you put the new pod on, when it says to remove the plastic cover, take some kleenex and wipe out the window so that the original insulin that was primed is removed. Usually that will get rid of the condensation. Now if you sweat or take a shower you may get the condensation again as that part of the window is not fully enclosed.

If your sugars start to rise, feel around the dressing in front of the window and smell your finger. If it is leaking insulin you will usually smell it.

Good luck!

Right on, Mayumi! Sorry Pete, I hope I didnt hurt your feelings! (I know you know I was just kidding, I have done some of the strangest things to detach my pod!)(Many of them icluding or because of some physical activity with my wife, who freaks when she knocks off my pod. “Are you alright? i didnt ruin the moment for you did I?”"Seriously, are you gonna be alright? Do I need to call anyone?’

I’m not nearly that thin skinned. But, in my defense, I had another bad pod. At 6:09 this morning (and there was no extracurricular anything – we were sound asleep) and the less-than-24-hour-old pod started screeching. This no longer amuses. I made sure that I treated that pod with kid gloves.

Thanks for your kindness, Mayumi. I’ve gotten through a box of pods in record time. I really do hate being the joker that can’t make it through a doorway without knocking my sensors senseless.

I like that!
“knocking my sensors senseless”

good on ya!

Thanks. Everyone has great suggestions. I really appreciate your suggestion. I think my showering is the culprit. It’s constant, so I figure it’s a feature and not a bug. I love the pod. The convenience is fantastic. I’m just surprised at how I can manage to knick them in such a way that would ruin them. There’s a guy who plays basketball. How can I be more destructive than a real athlete? I must be REALLY clumsy. I can’t dispute it, all evidence to the contrary.

My daughter wears her pod all over, but when she wears it on her arm she sometimes gets what Insulet calls a “bee sting”. The skin is sucked up into the opening where the canula inserts and t.he skin turns white. The “bee sting” takes about a day to go away after removal. I don’t take any action as long as there is no blood sugar issues.
