Compliments of the season to one and all. Christmas Day was a lovely day and we ate outside in my garden, luckily it was cool enough to do this. It is Boxing Day here now and I am feeling great, managed not to overindulge in seasonal goodies.

My “foster daughter” brought me two (regular, non-jelly donuts) when she returned from midnight church services (she is not Jewish). This is the first time we’ve had a Christmas tree in the house; it’s a strange feeling and all I can see is a fire hazard. Whereas I’m perfectly comfortable with a blazing Hanukkiah. She calls it a “Chrismakkah” tree because she put a Magen David on the top. She asked if she could take my 14-year-old daughter to church and I said OK. She had her convinced for a minute or two that they check to make sure you’re Christian before they let you past the door. My daughter said she felt like people were looking at her because she didn’t know the words to Silent Night. But she said she had a good time anyway.:slightly_smiling_face:

Likely they were admiring a new young face in the congregation!
