Hi all, I am due for an a1c test tommorow morning, and I believe that is the only test I am having, Is fasting required for an A1c only? thanks.
Nope, no fasting required.
Best of luck!
don't think so. Usually they only have me fast when they're also testing my cholesterol.
I hope your result comes out great!
No fasting is required. You usually need to fast if a cholesterol count is being done, but not an A1C.
Sounds good, thanks for the replies, i have been on this pump for some time now, and BG control is much better than with MDI, I am looking at the recent averages on my charts and I think the test may come back hopefully under 8, thanks.
I usually make sure my BG is in a good spot, 80s-ish... have a great test!
Hi everyone, just an update here... My HbA1c test came in @ 6.9 (last recent one was 8.1).....awesome news to me..I started out above 9 before starting with the pump!! :-)
I would recommend the pump vs MDI to most ppl who are considering it...It has worked great for me.
Congratulations! That's a great improvement in 3 months.
Way to go Jaybyrd! Did you fast or not fast before the test?
Hi acid, everyone here was right about that one...no , I did not have to fast for that particular test.
FANTASTIC NEWS..congrats! I started my Revel w/CGM pump training yesterday. Can't wait to go 'live' on it. Just curious, any problems with bad sites, no insulin delivery notices..did it take you a while to get adjusted, your basal - bolus rates...? What pump are you using?
I know you don't have to but, if you are trying to "win" the test, perhaps it might give one an "edge"?
Jaybyrd, congrats on the good A1c. Maake sure you log it on Tuanalyze. The link for it is on the bar at the top of each screen.
